Application Process

Everyone who applies for the Canadian Possession and Acquisition License must successfully complete or challenge the Canadian Firearms Safety Course.

The challenge consists of a written, 50 question, true/false and multiple choice exam and practical test, based on the safe handling and storage of firearms. The course was designed for entry-level firearm owners and should not present any difficulties with the experienced firearm owner. A certified Instructor must administer the challenge personally.
